Boxster Haus is a family-owned company based on the Sunshine Coast, Qld.

On Porsche, genuine enthusiasts. Our mantra? Provide premium service, repairs and parts without breaking the bank! Our first Porsche was in 1985, a beautiful silver 1958 356A Cabriolet; after 40 years, we are still driving them (Boxsters, 911 and a Macan)

There is a misconception that a Porsche is expensive to maintain and keep in pristine condition. Undoubtedly, various GT models and early 911s can be, but generally, no, they do not need to be costly.

Our role in the Porsche community (existing or new) is to encourage a relatively stress-free ownership experience.

We are passionate about the brand and keen to connect with others in Southeast Queensland and beyond.

SERVICE PROTOCOLS

LIQUI MOLY ENGINE FLUSH

When others ZIG, we tend to ZAG. We must conduct a thorough review of the past maintenance history of each Porsche in our care, regardless of whether it is a Sports or SUV model.

We advocate that each engine Boxster Haus service is internally clean. The only oil or additive product we use is Liqui Moly, who have a Pro-Line Engine Flush that cleans the engine from the inside and removes deposits from oil holes, bearings, the piston ring area, and other areas. Reduces engine noise and oil consumption, improves compression, and increases the vehicle's operating reliability. Allows the fresh oil to realise its full potential following an oil change.

The image to the left can be confronting!

Why would anybody service a dirty engine with clean oil? The cost is minimal ($90 for parts and labour) for engines with an oil capacity of over 5 litres, except for the 356, 912, and 924. All other Porsche models would require two (cans), and we recommend it be done every 12 months during servicing - a small price to pay for increased performance and improved fuel economy.

LIQUI MOLY ENGINE OILS

To reiterate, the Boxster Haus oil of choice is Liquid Moly, a high-quality German oil at a premium price. We purchase in bulk and keep pricing reasonable. Yes, there are cheaper oils. Over the years, we have tried them all, but nothing compares, particularly on a Porsche.

Superior additives, such as molybdenum disulfide, distinguish it from other motor oils. So, while many are comfortable with familiar brands, Liqui Moly provides extra peace of mind and superior engine performance that you may not have known you were missing.

LIQUI MOLY CERATEC

High-tech ceramic wear protection. Reduces friction and wear through the use of ceramic compounds, offering high chemical and thermal resistance. Prevents direct metal-to-metal contact, thus increasing the assembly service life. Reduces fuel consumption in gasoline and diesel engines thanks to the low-friction effect. Miscible with all commercially available motor oils and motor vehicle gear oils. Boxster Haus uses 600ml of CeraTec every 12 months or 20,000 km. (With oil change)

BRAKE FLUID FLUSHING

Brake Fluid Flushing is another overlooked service task. Brakes are among the most critical components in vehicles. For them to function correctly, they must be protected and maintained. The brake fluid plays a vital role in this. High-quality products are essential.

Brake fluids attract water (hygroscopic). This means that they absorb water from the ambient air over time. This can cause problems and become dangerous. When the brake fluid contains water and heats up, the water can evaporate, allowing the hydraulic pressure from the brake pedal to be transferred efficiently. Small steam bubbles can form in the brake system. These steam bubbles are compressible. This means that they can no longer transfer the hydraulic pressure from the brake pedal efficiently. The result is a spongy feeling when braking and reduced braking performance.
Another problem can be caused by contaminated or outdated brake fluid, which loses its protective properties. This can promote corrosion within the entire braking system and may result in expensive repairs. Boxster Haus suggests a brake flush every 2 years.

DIESEL PARTICLE FILTER (DPF) CLEANING Porsche SUV models

High emissions, complications with the exhaust system and expensive repairs – you can avert these problems with a professional and regular diesel particulate cleaning. Over time, however, a layer of soot and ash can accumulate in the diesel particulate filter, blocking airflow and reducing the filter's effectiveness. Under normal circumstances, this will self-clean during the journey. For this to occur, the exhaust gas temperature must exceed the soot ignition temperature of 550 degrees Celsius. This process is known as "regeneration", during which the accumulated soot is burned off. This mainly produces carbon dioxide (CO₂) and water vapour. Ash is left behind in the filter.

However, the temperature required for the diesel particulate filter to function in regeneration mode cannot be reached, especially during short journeys or prolonged stop-and-go operations. As a result, short-haul and urban vehicles are increasingly plagued by clogged diesel particulate filters.
